Terminal T2 of the Malaga Airport, also called Pablo Ruiz Picasso Terminal, was designed by the architecture studio of Ricardo Bofill. Its construction began at the end of 1988 and the terminal was officially opened on 30th November 1991.
The building has two floors with separate entrances from the outside; the lower floor is destined for arrivals, the upper floor for departures. The additional upper floor, where the shopping area is located, can be reached from the restricted area. The basement can be reached from the arrivals area and holds the car rental services. The terminal contains 65 check-in desks, 24 boarding gates, 14 airport walkways, and 8 baggage pick-up belts.
