Air Nostrum recover their route to Malaga airport and beat their own record of seats to Valencia

Air NostrumAsturias and Andalusia will be able to count on an air connection between them once again. Air Nostrum, the Valencia-based company that operates as Iberia’s regional subsidiary, have reconsidered the cancellation of the two routes that connected both regions, the ones that flew to Seville and Malaga. The possibilities of the route towards the airport in Seville is currently being studied; whilst, on the other hand, the route from Asturias to Malaga airport has been relaunched with a 20% increase of seats compared to last year’s whole offer.

65% of the German passengers arrive aboard low-cost airlines

The taxes of German passengers that arrived in Spain aboard low-cost airlines increased in 2011 by 5.3%

Two out of three German passengers that arrived in Spain in 2011, came aboard a low-cost airline, which means around 65% of the total, a figure vastly surpassed in priority destinations for the German market like the Costa del sol for example, where the figure increases up to 82%.

Malaga, third airport in Spain for cheap flights

Cheap flightsMalaga becomes the third most important airport in Spain when it comes to low cost airlines, after Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona. Although November hasn’t been a good month, with a fall of almost 8% of low cost passenger movement at Malaga airport, this terminal maintains a positive balance of over seven points in travellers on cheap flights during the eleven months of the year. The figures were provided yesterday by the Industry, Tourism and Trade Ministry in a monthly report produced by the Institute of Tourism Studies.

Easyjet try out the seat assignments on their flights

Easyjet has announced the start of the trials for the assignment of seats on selected routes during the Spring of 2012, according to the company, who also announced the signing of a new agreement with Amadeus. Currently, Easyjet operate with a system in which the passengers choose their seats when boarding, without previous booking, only giving first choice to those who have previously purchased the ‘Speedy Boarding’ service.
