Due to the Iberia strike, at Malaga airport-Costa del Sol during this week there will be cancelled a total of 32 flights to and from Madrid and Barcelona.

The route that connects Malaga airport with Istanbul is going so well that the company Turkish Airlines are considering increasing from the current five flights per week to a direct connection everyday between Malaga and this Turkish city as from the following month of April. This was pronounced yesterday by the airline’s general manager, together with Malaga’s councillor of Culture, Tourism and Sport, during the presentation of the first joint promotional act that will be displayed as from tomorrow in Istanbul.
They will no longer be flying to Venice or Asturias, despite having already put the tickets for these connections up for sale
The Transavia airline announced that they will be connecting Malaga and Alicante with the airport of Weeze in Germany as from the following 11th of October, according to an announcement by the airline in a press note.
To be precise, the airline will be operating three flights a week to the Alicante airport (Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays) and four flights a week to Malaga airport (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays).
The company Helitt Airlines have announced a new route between Malaga and Badajoz which will commence as from the following 13th of July. As from this date, there will new operations starting from the Badajoz airport, like a flight to Barcelona or the increase of the frequency to Mallorca.
This way, the company increase their frequency of services at the Badajoz airport “adding five new flights to the already existing connections”, from the price of 25 euros.
The tickets start at a price of 19 euros per journey – taxes included – and will be available as from this Friday on the company’s website.
Delta Airlines will be reoffering their direct flight from Malaga to New York on the following 3rd of June. The opening of this connection this summer, that will be operating in alliance with Air France-KLM, will be taking place a day before at the New York JFK airport, to land without stops at Malaga airport at around seven o’clock in the morning. A few hours later, at 10:20 hrs., the first departure is scheduled towards the city of the Big Apple, according to the information provided by the airline.
The first flight of the new low cost airline, Volotea, will be departing from Malaga airport at half past seven this evening. The destination is the Italian city of Venice, a route that until now was not possible directly. The communication and Institutional relations manager, Alfons Claver, presented the company’s project at Malaga airport, from where they’ll be flying, as from June, to Asturias, Zaragoza and Bordeaux. “We are very happy with the response we have received in Malaga. Out of the one hundred tickets we have sold since the 2nd of March, six thousand of them were to fly from this airport. We are very satisfied”, he assured.
