Malaga airport’s second runway will be open in June, but will only be used when the first one gets overloaded
The certification of the second runway at Malaga airport means the end of one of the big infrastructural investments in the province and opens the door to double the passengers. Last year, it registered almost 13 million travellers, and from now onwards it’s prepared to receive 70 airplanes per hour, almost double than now. “Malaga airport’s second runway will be open in June, but will only be used on demand, when necessary”, said the actual Malaga airport’s manager. Malaga airport improved their facilities for the hearing impaired
The Malaga airport Costa del Sol have installed in several passenger information desks, 18 equipments of a magnetic induction system -induction loops- that improve the accessibility for the hearing impaired travellers, as they reduce the noises and interferences of very crowded areas and transmit the voice, isolated from reverberations. Volotea, the low cost airline, begin their operations in Malaga today
The first flight of the new low cost airline, Volotea, will be departing from Malaga airport at half past seven this evening. The destination is the Italian city of Venice, a route that until now was not possible directly. The communication and Institutional relations manager, Alfons Claver, presented the company’s project at Malaga airport, from where they’ll be flying, as from June, to Asturias, Zaragoza and Bordeaux. “We are very happy with the response we have received in Malaga. Out of the one hundred tickets we have sold since the 2nd of March, six thousand of them were to fly from this airport. We are very satisfied”, he assured. Continue reading
Inaer maintain four daily flights between Ceuta and Malaga airport
The company Inaer, despite having announced the service suspension of the helicopter routes between Ceuta and Malaga airport, they are still providing four flights a day to and from this destination, according to the company themselves.

Iberia express tickets: 25 Euros flights from Malaga airport
The tickets for Iberia Express, already on sale in travel agencies, will not be available on its website until the middle of next week, nor through call-centres, as to do so, the company requires the corresponding IATA and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) codes, but can be purchased through Iberia, so until next week the prices will remain the same as Iberia’s.
